Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Who is invited to the event on November 7? 
    Everyone!  The event is open to the entire community.  This is Redeemer’s way of recognizing and thanking the community for our 100 years in Birmingham.
  2. Is there a charge for the event? 
    No, there is no charge for the carnival, dinner or concert.  A voluntary ‘free will’ donation at the end of the evening is welcome, but not expected.
  3. Do I need a ticket? 
    No ticket is required for the event.
  4. What is the schedule for the evening? 
    The evening starts with the carnival at 5:30 p.m. in the gym and the dinner at 6:00 p.m.  The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
  5. Can I attend just the carnival or just the concert? 
    Yes, absolutely.  We welcome you to both events (and dinner), but we understand that some may only choose to attend one or the other.
  6. What does the carnival involve?
    We are planning more than fifteen carnival games, face painting and a family photo booth. 
  7. What age group is the carnival games geared towards? 
    The carnival games for the children will be geared to both preschool aged children and elementary school aged children.  Prizes will be available for all children.
  8. Who should attend the concert? 
    The concert is for everyone, children to seniors.  The Detroit Youth Choir has been featured on the family television show, America’s Got Talent.
  9. How long is the concert? 
    We expect the concert to last 45 minutes to one hour, ending at 8:00 p.m.  An optional “cookie afterglow” will follow in our gathering space, the town square, adjacent to the church sanctuary.
  10. Will the dinner be allergy friendly? 
    The dinner will include hotdogs (no bun if preferred), peanut-free snacks, drinks and ice cream novelties, including a dairy free option.
  11. Where do I enter the church for the carnival? 
    When you enter the church parking lot, from the east or the west, you can park in any location.  The closest entrance to the carnival in the gym is on the west side of the building, but other entrances will also be open.  All entrances are ADA accessible.
  12. Where is the church located? 
    Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is located at 1800 W Maple Rd in Birmingham.  Click on the accompanying map for directions.
  13. Where do I enter the church for the concert? 
    When you enter the church parking lot, from the east or the west, you can park in any location.  The closest entrance to the concert in the sanctuary is either on the west side of the building, or in the front circle driveway.  The chapel entrance on the east side of the building will also be open.  All entrances are ADA accessible.
